The text is subdivided in a first part on the contributions of the methodology based on formal semantics in the description of underrepresented languages, with illustrations of the research developed about pluractionality in Karitiana. In the second part, reflections on some contributions of data from non-Indo-European languages to linguistic theory are presented, especially the approaches that assume linguistic universals. The discussions are based on research on the count-mass distinction in Wapichana and Terena.</p> ER -
