Publication as Curation

Cadernos de Linguística is requiring since June 2022 that all manuscripts to be submitted to the journal should be previously deposited on a preprints server following the "publish, review, curate" model, coined by the editors of eLife.

The adoption of the PRC model promotes an overhaul of scholarly communication in the area, such as the empowerment of authors, who now have control and responsibility in making their research available before validation by a journal, and the possibility of improving manuscripts with contributions from other researchers. CadLin is already publishing peer reviews as supplementary material to accepted articles, but will also start to publish public reviews derived from pre-prints as well.

The decision to accept a manuscript for publication in CadLin will now become an initial act of curation on a paper that has already been published by the authors.
