Open Analytic Code Badge

Cadernos de Linguística is pleased to announce the integration of a new initiative into our journal's practices, in collaboration with the renowned Center for Open Science (OSF). We proudly introduce the Open Science Badge for Analytic Code, a recognition program designed by OSF to honor authors who utilize open analytic code in their research.

In alignment with our commitment to transparency, reproducibility, and the advancement of knowledge, clear criteria for earning this prestigious badge have been established. We kindly request all authors to thoroughly review the criteria, which can be accessed online at the following link: Open Science Practices Badges. It is imperative to ensure that your work meets the specified requirements to qualify for this recognition.

Open Practice Badges are used as a method to normalize and incentivize open science practices. They serve as a signal to readers, funders, and journal editors that you are complying with transparency expectations. By earning the Open Science Badge for Analytic Code, you demonstrate your commitment to open analytic code and contribute to the broader open science movement.

Previously, analytic code was encompassed within the Open Materials badge. However, recognizing its significance in computational reproducibility and to prevent potential confusion across disciplines, we have now granted analytic code its distinct status within our badge system, in line with the principles advocated by OSF.

At Cadernos de Linguística, we firmly believe in the value of embracing open science practices, which are instrumental in fostering collaboration, enhancing research integrity, and driving advancements in the field of linguistics. By acknowledging and promoting authors who utilize open analytic code, we aim to cultivate a culture of transparency and reproducibility within our scholarly community.

We cordially invite all researchers to join us in embracing the principles of open science. Together, let us elevate linguistic scholarship to new horizons by employing open analytic code and contributing to the collective progress of knowledge.

Through open collaboration, we can establish a thriving and inclusive research environment.
