We are pleased to announce that Cadernos de Linguística is now part of the Open Journals Collective (OJC), an international initiative dedicated to strengthening Diamond Open Access scholarly journals.
The OJC brings together researchers, libraries, university presses, and nonprofit academic publishers around a shared goal: building a more sustainable and equitable scholarly communication system. Under this model, research remains freely accessible, with no publication fees for authors and no paywalls for readers.
Joining the collective reinforces the commitments that have guided Cadernos de Linguística since its foundation: public access to knowledge, no submission or publication fees, editorial independence, and governance by the academic community. Published by the Brazilian Linguistics Association (Abralin), the journal’s operating costs are covered by the association, without APCs or subscription revenue.
Through this initiative, Cadernos de Linguística becomes part of an international network working to develop community-led alternatives to commercial publishing models and to strengthen the long-term sustainability of Diamond Open Access.
The journal now has a dedicated page in the Open Journals Collective catalogue, featuring information about its open-access policy, funding, publication languages, and institutional affiliation.
Becoming part of the OJC expands the international presence of Cadernos de Linguística and reaffirms our commitment to open, responsible, and public-interest scholarly communication.
