Guidelines for the use of AI

Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the scientific landscape by automating a broad range of tasks, including data analysis and manuscript writing. However, the use of AI in scientific research also raises concerns about transparency and ethical considerations. To address these concerns, Cad_Lin has recently released guidelines to help authors use AI in a responsible manner.

The guidelines include four key points that authors must follow when using AI in their manuscripts. Firstly, authors must disclose the use of AI in their manuscripts, specifying the AI tools and techniques employed. Secondly, they must explain how AI was used, including the specific steps taken. The explanation should be detailed and clear to help readers understand how AI was used and how it may have influenced the study's results. Thirdly, authors are still responsible for the content of their manuscripts, even if AI generated some or all of it. They must review all AI-generated content to ensure that it is accurate, complete, and consistent with their research. Finally, authors must not use AI to generate fraudulent or misleading research, such as using AI to create false data, plagiarize other authors' work, or create deceptive figures or tables.

Cad_Lin's editors hope that these guidelines will promote transparency and ethics in scientific research. Manuscripts submitted to Cad_Lin will be scrutinized for AI-generated content using the available tools to ensure compliance with these guidelines. As AI continues to revolutionize the scientific landscape, it is essential to ensure its responsible and ethical use to maintain the integrity of scientific research.
